Missing and Exploited Children - Education on How to Keep Children Safe

Amanda Becerra, daughter of Mark Becerra (a member of the Chula Vista Sunrise Rotary Club), is a Lifetime Member of Girls Scouts, USA. She is a youth backpacking leader and has trained hundreds of girls and adults. She is continuing her passion for the outdoors as she attends Northern Arizona University, where she is pursuing a degree in Parks and Recreation Management with an emphasis on Enforcement. Although she has graduated high school, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, she has been given additional time to complete her Gold Award Project.  She first joined Girl Scouts in Kindergarten as a Daisy and has continued in the program for the last thirteen years. Throughout her time with Girls Scouts, she has had the opportunity to pursue her passion for outdoors and travel, which has included visiting Pfeiffer Big Sur, Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Park, Girl Scouts Boundary Water Canoe Trip in Minnesota and Canada, and a trip to Greece, where she kayaked around the Island of Kefalonia in the Ionian Sea for seven days.
